Hartwick College is part of Oneonta’s daily geography: a campus on the hill, students walking downtown, and alumni and faculty connected to the wider community.
Hartwick’s community work brings learning, service, culture, and outdoor experiences into the region. Pine Lake Environmental Campus and the Institute of Public Service are among the ways the college opens its work beyond campus.
SUNY
Oneonta
SUNY Oneonta brings students, faculty, staff, ideas, and events into the Oneonta area. Its Founding Presenting Partner role helps make that campus energy easier to share locally.
Community members can connect with campus learning and culture through galleries, the planetarium, observatory, library, Science Discovery Center, and public events. The Center for Volunteerism and Community Engagement gives students a direct way to work with local organizations.

Oneonta Job Corps Center gives eligible young adults a practical starting point through academic support, career training, and a campus community.
Hands-on programs, credentials, and work preparation help students move toward careers in fields such as construction, electrical work, automotive repair, and healthcare. The center connects learning to the next step: contributing to the businesses and services that keep the region moving.
